Coke plant technologies
On October 1, 2003, ThyssenKrupp EnCoke GmbH became part of the Uhde group, adding coke plant technologies to ThyssenKrupp Uhde's process portfolio.
Coke is and will continue to be an indispensable feedstock for the blast furnace process, which will remain the dominant technology in pig iron making in decades to come. The technological competence comprises the entire spectrum of coke plant technologies:
- coke oven batteries with chamber heights of up to 8.4 metres
- gas treatment plants for cleaning and processing the crude gas produced during coking
- heat recovery coke plants in which the raw gas produced in the ovens is completely combusted and used to generate power.
The company's technical edge in the turnkey engineering and construction of coke plants is based on decades of international experience and the continuous refinement of its know-how. With its broad spectrum of solutions - from complex hot repair and modernisation to the construction of complete new plants - ThyssenKrupp EnCoke makes an important contribution to cost-effective, eco-friendly steel production.
